A two hour class for expectant women and their partners in the last two months of pregnancy. The class covers the benefits of breastfeeding, anatomy, and physiology of lactation, techniques for a successful breastfeeding experience, breast pump use and returning to work or school.
This class is offered to help you choose the correct infant/toddler booster seat restraint for your child. Discussion on the three best types of car seats, as well as correct installation, and the correct placement of lap and shoulder safety belts on a child. You will receive NHTSA's "Buckle Up Kids!" child restraint guide. This class is encouraged for families expecting a new baby, or who have children who are less than 13 years of age.
For expectant parents in the last 3 months of pregnany who have not previously taken childbirth classes. This a condensed version of the Childbirth Preparation class. A tour of our Birthing Center will be given at some time during each class series or upon request.
Day One:
Physical and emotional changes during pregnancy, body conditioning exercises and relaxation skills, beginning signs of lanor, active labor and the delivery process, breathing techniques, medication options, coping with pain.
Day Two:
Medical interventions and procedures of pregnancy and delivery, review breathing techniques and relaxation, adjustment to your new role as parents, infant feeding options and decisions for your newborn, newborn characteristics, baby care, safety tips.
