Healthy Living

Children's Pre-surgery Program

Prior to surgery, children and their families can get their questions answered, visit with staff, alleviate fears and tour the same-day surgery and post-operative areas. Call Kim Olson or Dawn Larson at 651-982-7450 for more information.

First Aid and CPR

Lakes Region EMS offers a provider first aid class ($45) and  HeartSaver CPR class ($45) to the public rotating every other month. For dates and registration, call Lakes Region EMS Education Department at 651-277-4911.

Blood Pressure Checks

Free blood pressure checks by Fairview Lakes HomeCaring & Hospice:

  • Brink’s Market, Chisago City (with assistance from Fairview Chisago Lakes Clinic in Chisago City), every Tuesday, 10–11 a.m.
  • Marketplace Foods, Forest Lake Tuesdays, 9–11 a.m.
  • North Branch Senior Center 4th and 5th Thursdays, 11a.m.–1 p.m.

Foot Care Clinics

Routine foot care, including nail trimming and callus removal, provided by Fairview Lakes HomeCaring & Hospice, 651?257?8850. Cost $28. Appointments required.

Women’s Health Evening Clinic

Convenient evening women’s clinics at Fairview Lakes clinics, 5:30–8 p.m., four times/month. Regular fees apply. Financial assistance available to qualifying women. Al-Anon

Adults with Disabilities Support Group

Group meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Chisago County Senior Center, North Branch. Call Betty Stoffel, 651-674-2436.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II

For individuals with recent heart-related diagnoses. Continuous ECG, heart rate and blood pressure monitoring during exercise sessions while supervised by an exercise physiologist or registered nurse. Lifestyle modification education for coronary artery disease risk reduction is also provided. Physician referral/insurance provider approval required. Fairview Rush City Clinic. Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase III

For people with stable coronary artery disease, or those at risk for developing it, who require or desire a supervised exercise program. Exercise sessions offer aerobic activity, stretching, strengthening, relaxation and education in a group setting. Exercise physiologists and registered nurses work with clients to provide intermittent ECG and blood presure monitoring, reinforce healthy habits, and resources and support for ongiong recovery. Caregivers Support Group

For people who care for an elderly, chronically ill or disabled person. For information, call Mary Bornong at 651-439-4840. Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at Family Means in Stillwater.

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)  Support Group

Meets 3rd Thursday each month. Call LaMoine Olson, RCP, 651-982-7886, for details. FLMC, Education Center, Room B.

Diabetes Support Group

Led by a certified diabetes educator. Meets the second Tuesday of each month at FLMC, Conf. B. Call 651-982-7787 for information.

Diabetes Support Group

Loss of a Child Support Group

Loss of a Spouse Support Group

Free weekly grief support group for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse. Meets every Tuesday, 4-5:30 p.m., St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, North Branch. Call 651-257-7837 to register.

Lyme Disease Support Group

For you or anyone you love who suffers from the effects of Lyme disease. Group meets 2nd Tuesday each month at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Forest Lake. For more information, call 651?464?5502, ext. 2012.

Individualized Nutrition Counseling

Memory Care Connection Support Group
