Our dietitians
Dietitians are vital members of the health care team and provide nutrition therapy as appropriate to patients both in and out of the hospital. They respond to requests made by physicians, nurses, patients and other health care team members.

In the hospital
Dietitians participate in patient care rounds to help identify patients who are in need of nutrition intervention. They identify nutrition risk based on:
diagnosis
nutrition complications
social/diet history
laboratory tests
comparative measurements.

Based on the dietitian's assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be developed. Dietitians work to help patients understand the relationship between nutrition and their illness.

Quality meals
At Fairview Lakes Medical Center, patients are given quality meals consistent with their physician-ordered diet plan. Nutrition aides deliver meals with care. Nutrition services staff routinely make patient rounds to ensure patients are consistently receiving quality meals.

Outpatient Classes and Individual Counseling
Fairview Lakes dietitians serve outpatients through a variety of classes as well as individual counseling. (Before scheduling, be sure to verify coverage with your insurer.)

Counseling

cardiac diets

low sodium
